Intense. Rare. Vivid.

Diamonds in the D-to-Z color range usually decrease in value as the color becomes more obvious but with fancy color diamonds, quite the opposite happens. The value increases with the strength and purity of the color. Yellow and brown diamonds are the most abundant compared to other colored diamonds and generally less valuable. Red, green, orange and purple diamonds are known to be the rarest, followed by pink and blue diamonds. Only one in 10,000 diamonds has a fancy color, which makes them extremely rare, desired, and valuable. The most well-known historical and current sources of fancy color diamonds include India, South Africa and Australia.

Those born in April are lucky enough to call this scintillating gem their birthstone. Diamond is also the gem that marks the 60th and 75th wedding anniversaries.
