Topaz’s name comes from the Sanskrit word “tapas”, which means “fire.” Topaz comes in a rainbow of colors including colorless, light blue, yellow, orange, pink, violet, brown and very rarely red. For centuries, many people in India have believed that topaz worn above the heart assures long life, beauty and intelligence. The ancient Greeks believed that topaz gave them strength.

Imperial topaz is the birthstone for November and the gemstone for 23rd wedding anniversary.
Blue topaz is the birthstone for December and the gemstone to celebrate 4th wedding anniversary.

Topaz is rated “good” for everyday wear. Avoid direct sunlight and exposure to heat which may cause color to fade. Avoid contact with chemicals. To clean, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush and a solution of mild dish soap and warm water.
