Peridot
Fresh. Energizing. Bright.
Peridot is a greenish-yellow gem variety of the mineral olivine. The word peridot comes from the Arabic “faridat”, meaning “gem”. Peridot is known for being formed under extreme conditions, as it can be found in the hardened lava that carried it from deep within Earth’s mantle as well as in meteorites that traveled from outer space. Peridot has been used for centuries as a protective talisman, shielding the owner from evil spirits and “terrors of the night.”

Peridot is the birthstone for August and the 15th anniversary gemstone.
Jewelry care:
Peridot is rated “fair” for everyday wear with care. Avoid exposure to heat and sudden changes in temperature. Avoid contact with chemicals. To clean, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush and a solution of mild dish soap and warm water.
